| Have you ever wondered why Jesus Christ said in the following verses, which most ministers have trouble explaining, that He will condemn a certain group of respected Christians that thought they had been very good Christians? Continue reading, especially the two paragraphs in red defining anomia and anomie. MATTHEW 7:21-23: "Not everyone (Not every kind or Not every kind of person may be a better translation, which is even more ominous) who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven ........ 22 Many (the original Greek word for the loosely translated English word "Many" is polus, which according to other verses could very well mean the majority of premillenial and, incredibly, possibly even postmillenial Christians, thanks to Satanic deceptions not yet unleashed) will say to Me in that day (Judgment Day), 'Lord, Lord (desperately crying out to Him as they fear they are about to be rejected), have we not prophesied (taught) in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders (speculating, maybe claimed healings by people like Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, etc.) in Your name?' 23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness (anomia)!" These poor, doomed Christians on the last day of their lives were really caught off guard. What sin or sins were so horrible that they caused the Creator to permanently reject them? They obviously did something terribly wrong. How in the world could these Christians that were probably just like you and I that love God and our families and are willing to work hard to do what is right, Christians very familiar with the Bible and talented enough to remove demons from the possessed, so catastrophically misunderstand something apparently very fundamental in the Bible? We, ourselves, the living who still have hope, to avoid such a disastrous fate, instead of relying on or trusting others to read the Bible for us, need to read and try to understand every word in the Bible itself to make sure that we don't miss something that would be obvious even to people who are not religious. ........................ Just as Jesus predicted "many" Christians would be guilty of anomia on Judgment Day, most Christians this very day (who again underestimate, just like Adam and Eve did, the extent of Satan's very successful influence on this world's major religions) refuse to believe, trusting and assuming that the majority must be right, the following definition of that Greek word, or refuse to make some changes in their lives to escape the same fate. According to the PRECISE, EXACT definition of anomia as explained by world renowned Biblical scholars, the blunt word that Jesus Himself used, the original Greek word recorded in dark ink on lightly colored paper for the loosely translated English word "lawlessness," the condemned in the above verses had actually, willfully or in ignorance failed to obey and observe many holy laws and divinely, permanently established, specific standards recorded in the Old Testament that were NEVER SPECIFICALLY SINGLED OUT by the Apostles as really done away with, laws that are still intact and valid even today, causing Jesus to condemn them. ONLY A VERY FEW LAWS, such as the animal and grain sacrifice and circumcision laws were ever abolished, which the Apostles SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIED as no longer in force. Anomia places major emphasis not on the commission of a small number of sins but on the total or near total ABSENCE of ALL Old Testament law keeping, on the complete ABANDONMENT of Mosaic law observance. I am not making this up, and I am not trying to "Judaize," I am "spelling out," perhaps more than on any other website, what the New Testament says literally, concentrating on that all important, make or break word, anomia. Jesus' words in verse 23 seem to be saying; "You were never worth even knowing. Get out of my sight, you who dare to live each day without obeying ALL of my laws!" Anomia literally means no torah. NO TORAH !!!! "A" means "no" or "without" and "nomia," derived from "nomos" means "law," or primarily the laws within the first five books of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Anomia is a word most translators, and many of them are actually antiSemitic leaning, hide behind more general, less specific words such as "iniquity" and "lawlessness." It is a word rarely if ever mentioned and accurately defined in mainstream, gentile Christian churches, and, of course, to my knowledge, never in Joel Osteen's sermons. Requoting the literal translation again for emphasis, which is addressed to Christians, not the general population, "........ DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE THE TOTAL ABANDONMENT OF OLD TESTAMENT LAW KEEPING!" or "........ DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE BREAKING THE MOSAIC LAWS IN IGNORANCE!" Jesus talked about the tithing (complete tithing) and Saturday Sabbath laws in a way that shows they are still very much in force. Christians who believe that most Old Testament laws have been done away with are treading on extremely dangerous territory. ........................ ANOMIA, the feminine noun, Strong's number 458, IS DEFINED BY THAYER'S GREEK-ENGLISH LEXICON of the NEW TESTAMENT, March, 2005 seventh printing, acclaimed by many as the world's best such lexicon, on page 48: "1. prop. the condition of one without law,---either because ignorant of it or because violating it. 2. contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness ........." The adjective form of anomia is anomos, Strong's number 459, defined as "1. destitute of (the MOSAIC) law ........." The adverb form is anomos, Strong's number 460, spelled like the adjective but pronounced differently, and it is defined as "without the law ........., without a knowledge of the law ......... to sin in ignorance of the MOSAIC law ........" Nomia in anomia is derived from nomos, Strong's number 3551, and on page 427 nomos is defined as "......... a command, law; and 1. of any law whatsoever ......... 2. of the MOSAIC law ........" ...................... Anomia, by definition, includes the Mosaic laws !! To list one, just one very evil consequence of an anomos lifestyle is the hunger and even DEATH by starvation of those people who are genuinely unable to feed themselves, little orphans, the blind, the paralyzed, the bedridden, those afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease, victims of famines and wars, and in America those who have lost their jobs and no longer qualify for government assistance, not even food stamps, etc. Remember, Jesus, except for the animal and grain sacrifices and circumcision, greatly expanded some of the Mosaic laws and elevated righteousness to a much higher level as shown by, for example, 1) His command to love others not only as much as you love yourself but as Jesus loved others, which can involve sacrifice, 2) His command (permission), assuming you are a true Christian, to divorce only if your mate has been sexually unfaithful or if your mate, not you, requests a divorce (1Corinthians 7:10-13,15), but if your divorcing partner was and remains a live Christian you cannot remarry unless you remarry the one you divorced, and 3) His command to avoid merely looking at others entertaining promiscuous thoughts. Even if Jesus had never sternly reminded us in Matthew 7:21-23 to continue obeying most of the Mosaic laws, using one of the most frightening threats possible, it makes less than no sense at all for Jesus to have abolished, while expanding laws showing love and concern for others, the following tithing law, which helped the needy tremendously, if He or any Apostle never said it was abolished, and certainly no one in the Bible ever said that it had been done away with. So if all Christians around the world obeyed just one single law in the Old Testament, the triennial charity tithe for the hungry (Deuteronomy 26:12), which is the law requiring that 10% of your net, after tax income every third year, which is not every year, be devoted exclusively to feed those who cannot feed themselves, hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of human lives could be saved from death by starvation each year. ANOMOS CHRISTIANS, BY FAILING TO OBEY DEUTERONOMY 26:12, ARE THEREFORE, IN VARYING DEGREES, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF MANY PEOPLE WHO NEED HELP !!!! Can you now begin to understand a little better why Jesus is so determined to get rid of those guilty of anomia and why He can feel justified in showing absolutely no mercy at all to those condemned for anomia, because they showed far less mercy to the helpless than they should have shown???? Mainstream Christianity claims, using verses they twist out of context or which ignore the original Greek, that the Mosaic laws have been abolished, but Jesus has stated, about as clearly as possible, just the direct opposite in the above Matthew 7:23 verse. Who are you going to follow, your denomination or the literal warnings of Jesus Christ Who has already demonstrated that He can raise the dead?? Anomia carries with it the idea of deliberately, contemptuously disobeying specific, established standards. ...................... Also, THE HEBREW-GREEK KEY WORD STUDY BIBLE King James Version, 1991 revised edition, on page 1740 in the "Lexical Aids to the New Testament," as well as other study aids, defines nomos basically as the law given most frequently by Moses. ANOMIE is an actual English word derived directly from the Greek word anomia. Dictionaries basically define anomie, which gives us additional insight into the meaning of anomia, as A COLLAPSE OF THE SOCIAL STRUCTURES REGULATING OR GOVERNING A SOCIETY OR SOCIAL INSTABILITY RESULTING FROM A BREAKDOWN OF STANDARDS AND VALUES. Quite obviously mainstream Christianity has experienced a collapse of Mosaic law observance since the death of Jesus. The original Greek word for "practice" in MATTHEW 7:23 above is ergazomai, Strong's number 2038, which Thayer defines as "1. absol. a. to work, labor, do work: it is opp. to inactivity or idleness ........ b. to trade, to make gains by trading ........ 2. a. (to work i. e.) to do, work out ........ b. to work for, earn by working, to acquire ........" Ergazomai as defined by Thayer, Strong, and others seems to imply that anomia is not a sin that occurs by accident, or occurs unintentionally such as through extreme temptation. Their definitions indicate that anomia is deliberate, and the English translation "practice" implies that anomia does not occur only rarely, all of which is consistent with the idea that Old Testament law keeping has been deliberately abandoned. Examining Matthew 7:21-23 even more closely, the original Greek word for "everyone," pas, Strong's number 3956, can mean "all sorts, all kinds, or all types," not necessarily the total number of people or absolutely all which is the definition of another Greek word used in the Bible. The English translation "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom ........" could be slightly deceptive to some people by initially giving the false security or impression that only a relatively small number of rogue Christians will be saying "Lord, Lord." "Kinds" can involve different kinds or degrees of unrighteousness as well as the righteous kind, for example, and the number of these unrighteous kinds could exceed the number of the righteous kinds. The actual number of Christians in a particular unrighteous group or kind could be far greater than the number of Christians in a righteous kind. "All kinds of people" refers to 100% of the people," but "not all kinds of people," possibly a better translation, which, for example, could refer to literally anywhere from 1 to 95% of the whole, leaves open the possibility that 88%, another example, of the Christian population or 88% of the kinds will not enter the kingdom. Remember, the Bible sometimes says things in a grossly conservative way. To illustrate, a verse in Genesis describes the sun as a "great light." That great light is about 800,000 miles in diameter and generates multimillion degree temperatures. Matthew 7:21-23 does not state or even necessarily imply that only a minority of Christian kinds, the condemned, will be saying "Lord, Lord, ........" on Judgment Day. ..................... More Old Testament laws are still very much in force than commonly realized. Anomia refers to the failure to observe any law in either the Old or New Testament, including the Saturday Sabbath, the festivals of Trumpets, Tabernacles, Unleavened Bread, the fasting Day of Atonement, the dietary laws, and various tithing laws. Not many Christians know about this word and its true definition. Most churches teach that the Mosaic laws have been abolished, but throughout the entire New Testament the original Greek, and I seriously challenge you to actually disprove me, does not support that teaching with the exception of the animal and grain sacrifices and circumcision. Using a panel of 11 unbiased publically elected judges I may soon start offering a $10,000 and possibly by 2012 a bank verifiable $400,000 challenge to any individual, any church, or any collection of churches that can successfully, Biblically and not emotionally, disprove me. The majority of mainstream Christians will ultimately, probably be saved, but they most likely, according to what the Bible says literally, will not be in the first resurrection because of their lifestyles that embraced anomia. These Christians, hopefully, will be in the second resurrection to be given another opportunity to live righteously. Never heard of the Bible's second resurrection? Click ucg.org/bible-faq/salvation-after-death-resurrection-judgment-day.htm to learn more about that merciful event. Jesus Christ Himself in the Bible's New, not Old Testament, several times mentioned the continuing importance and sanctity, and by implication the continuing need to revere and obey the Saturday Sabbath law (Matthew 24:20, Mark 2:27), and He mentioned the need to continue tithing (Matthew 23:23, Luke 11:42), both Mosaic, torah laws. MATTHEW 23:23 says: "Woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone." "The others" refers to their initially meticulous tithing. Since Jesus did not distinguish between or single out which tithe of the different kinds of tithes contained within the Mosaic laws should be paid, paying the third year charity tithe for the hungry (Deuteronomy 26:12, 14:28-29) as well as the regular tithe is obviously still mandatory because the scribes and Pharisees in these verses ROUTINELY PAID BOTH TYPES of tithes !!! One kind of tithe is certainly just as important as another kind of tithe !! You never thought about that, did you? Well, it's never too late to repent, excluding the Day of Judgment. On that day the great mercy and forgiveness of Jesus will come to a screeching halt, a dead stop. The above sentence containing the brown words also strongly implies that many other Mosaic laws are also still in force. Your body is a temple ordained to house the Holy Spirit, and the Bible commands you to be holy in everything that you do, including choosing what to ingest. Eating pollution harboring, toxin loaded forbidden foods desecrates and defiles your temple. According to Matthew 5:20 Jesus commanded us to do what the scribes and Pharisees did when it concerns food by obeying the Mosaic dietary laws. The scribes and Pharisees did not eat forbidden foods. 2 CORINTHIANS 6:17: "Therefore come out from among them (sinners), and be separated, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing (mainstream Christians routinely not only touch but eat bacon, crabs, pizza with pork contaminated pepperoni, oysters, etc.)" is a New Testament, not Old Testament verse showing that the dietary laws are very much still in force, which also implies, using the most basic logic, that many other Mosaic laws are still valid, too. The original Greek word for "touch" is haptomai, defined by Thayer as "....... to fasten to ....... adhere to, cling to, ....... to touch ......." Quoting other commentators Thayer further defines haptomai as "....... have no intercourse with the Gentiles, no fellowship in their heathenish practices ....... the things not to be touched appear to be both women and certain kinds of food ....... " The original Greek word for "unclean" in the above verse is akathartos, which according to Thayer is defined primarily as "....... that which must be abstained from according to the levitical (did you see that word levitical?) law, lest impurity be contracted ......." which of course would include food. Even without additional reinforcement by many other available verses just the following powerful, very specific verses in Isaiah instantly and completely crush any support for the false teaching that the majority of the Mosaic laws, including the dietary laws, are no longer in force: ISAIAH 66:17-23: "Those .........eating SWINE'S FLESH and the ABOMINATION (forbidden aquatic creatures) and the MOUSE (people in some countries think nothing of eating mice), shall be CONSUMED (killed, slain, or destroyed) together,' says the Lord ......... 22 For as the NEW HEAVENS and the NEW EARTH which I will make shall remain before Me ......... 23 And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one SABBATH (Saturday) to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,' says the Lord." Isaiah 65:17,25 and 66:22 show that these two chapters, where the words "swine's flesh" and "Sabbath" appear, clearly refer to a FUTURE age that has not yet arrived, a time when the earth will be literally reshaped into a new earth, an age when Jesus Christ will have returned a second time in great glory. In this future new age even the nature of some animals will be changed since 65:25 reveals that lions and wolves will peacefully eat grass just like sheep, instead of meat. The Mosaic dietary laws will obviously be mercilessly enforced as well as seventh day Saturday rest and worship. I am not lying, that is what the Bible says. Concerning Isaiah 66:17-23 either A) the Lord is not telling the truth or does not know what He's talking about, or B) He abolished the dietary laws and will re-establish them again in the future and also changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday or allowed it to be changed to Sunday, then will change it back to Saturday in the future, or C) the Mosaic dietary laws were never abolished and the original day of sanctified rest on Saturday memorializing the wonderful, fabulous six days of creation also was never abolished or changed. A is of course false because God does not lie and He most certainly always knows what He's talking about. B makes less than no sense at all, especially since there is no Scriptural evidence for it. Common sense, which is that sense common to most people, seems to want to begin pointing more in the general direction of C than either A or B, using reasonable logic. Don't you agree that the inescapable conclusion is that only C can be true? When you know what the New Testament really says in the original Greek, especially after you have carefully studied the MORE MISUNDERSTOOD VERSES page, you will realize that it confirms C. Deceived Christians who believe that most of the Mosaic laws have been abolished generally, of course, do not believe that the prophecies of the major prophets such as Isaiah have also been abolished, which creates for them a hopelessly irreconcilable major problem concerning Isaiah 66:17-24. Also, REVELATION 18:2 provides additional confirmation that some birds are still classified as "UNCLEAN," or still forbidden to eat, in New Testament times shortly before the second coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus in the 13th chapter of Matthew, verses 41 and 42 said that He really will eventually end the lives of those Christians guilty of committing anomia. Even devout, fervently praying Christians, as implied by the above Matthew 7:22 verse who have deliberately chosen to obey the denominational teachings of imperfect, perishing, mortal men that are directly contrary to the simple, plain teachings of Jesus, will be thrown into a "lake of fire" from which they will never regain consciousness (Matthew 10:28). Ananias and Sapphira, a church going couple that was probably well thought of in Acts 5:1-11, in the Bible's New Testament, not the Old Testament, were made an example to remind us still to this very day during the second decade of the twenty first century of the serious consequences of disobedience. The Bible records that they were !! E-X-E-C-U-T-E-D !! almost immediately right in front of their fellow church members, with probably even young children present, and shown no mercy at all for deliberately committing only one single offense, lying. No arrest, no jail, no bail, no court proceedings, no appeals, and no last meal were involved, just death, instant death. No emotions during that terrible tragedy were recorded, except "great fear." Since the Bible sometimes grossly understates things, those Christians were probably terrified, almost frozen with fear, wondering if they would be next. That same fear of the consequences of breaking God's laws needs to remain always in our current thinking. Ananias and Sapphira are seldom discussed in most "Just accept Jesus into your heart and you will be saved" preaching popular churches. The words Jesus chose to use in MATTHEW 24:20: "And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath (Saturday)" shows convincingly that nothing, absolutely nothing has been abolished about the sacredness of the seventh day of the week and the continuing need to still avoid work on every Saturday. Doesn't that verse basically mean "Don't you dare do any work on Saturdays?" Isn't "flight" a type of work and obviously a form of stressful activity that is the opposite of rest? I think most unbiased, open minded, nonreligious people would quickly agree that Jesus' warning to pray that your flight not be on the Sabbath (Saturday) is basically the same, repeat, basically the same, as the statement "Don't you DARE do any work on SATURDAYS" confirming that the Saturday rest law, a Mosaic, torah law, is very, very much still in force!! You never thought about that, did you? Matthew 24:20 therefore also, of course, implies that many other Mosaic laws are stiil valid. It's still not too late to repent. It is a beautiful, wonderful thing to Jesus to see a man rest or not work every seventh day, especially under adverse conditions, who trusts Him to take care of him and his family, as a wife trusts her husband to take care of her. Not one but two verses in Exodus 31, verses 14 and 15 warn that death was and very much still is even today the potential penalty for deliberately working on Saturdays according to Matthew 7:21-23 and 13:41-42. The painful death by stoning of someone caught working on a Saturday is recorded in Numbers 15:32-36, which is another example or reminder to this very day of the potential future consequences of breaking only one of the laws of Moses. Philippians 2:12: "........ work out your own salvation with fear and trembling," 1 Peter 4:18: "And if the righteous scarcely be saved ........," and James 2:19 which says that even the wretched, lost demons tremble when they think about God, are not just idle words when you consider the speed and mercilessnes of the above couple's execution and the agonizingly lethal punishment of the man who worked on a Saturday. Our Lord does not change, and He is the same today as He was in the past. Malachi 3:6: "For I am the Lord, I change not; ........." The very words in Matthew 13:41-42 and in similar verses which show that condemned sinners, including condemned Christians will be killed by literally ROASTING THEM ALIVE provide iron clad proof that the Lord has not changed one iota. Can you imagine a more painful death? Adam and Eve had only a verbal warning they probably disobeyed well within 6 months, Ananias and Sapphira had only minutes to give a truthful answer to the Apostle Peter, but the Bible has provided a well documented, direct, written warning to mainstream Christendom's many denominations for many centuries. If these self willed Christians (wife hogging, polygamist Mormons, perverted minister approving Episcopalians and Lutherans, Inquisition minimizing, Bible suppressing, baby baptizing (how many babies have you met who told you that they had repented of their sins, a requirement for baptism?), Decalogue tampering (they removed the commandment concerning images), purgatory preaching, celibate nun and celibate priest preaching (the Bible clearly allows ministers and nuns to marry), Mary worshipping, excessively repetitive prayer reciting (Matthew 6:7 condemns such repetitions) Catholics who also adorn their churches with forbidden images, and man made, idolatrous tradition desecrated Christmas and Easter observing, pagan Sunday observing, Saturday resurrection denying or ignorant, toxin loaded catfish, sewage absorbing oyster, and swine chewing Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Anglicans, Unitarians, and those in a host of similar churches) will act that way while still mortal, how in the world would they act if immortal with even greater powers ? ? The Lord understandably will not forever tolerate being mocked, ignored, and insulted. Our Creator has already had the experience of a formerly righteous Lucifer turning on Him. The above anomos Christians have already, also, provided plenty of advance notice of what they really think of our Creator's instructions and will as contained in the Bible. Just a few more examples of Christians breaking very clearly specified laws include abortionist Christians (do not murder), Halloween observing Christians, fortune teller visiting Christians, adulterous Christians who have remarried after divorcing for reasons other than fornication (Matthew 5:32, 19:9), and Feast of Tabernacles skipping Christians. Few people know that for decades now thousands of righteous Christian families in Biblically restored churches have been traveling to festival sites in the fall of each year to celebrate this care free 7 day feast. Most Christians have mistakenly been taught that the Old Testament laws have been done away with. It is the Old Covenant itself which promised only physical blessings for obedience, not immortality and the Holy Spirit which the New Testament now promises to the righteous, that has been abolished. The separate but eternal, very beneficial and very humane Mosaic laws, except for the animal and grain sacrifice laws and circumcision, are still in force. The sacrifice of Jesus has atoned for our past sins, but Jesus and God the Father still require us to obey the laws in both the Old and New Testaments to remain righteous and holy after our repentance and baptism. Do you really believe that the Mosaic laws specifically PROHIBITING 1) arson, 2) vandalizing mobs, 3) malicious gossip, 4) incest, 5) allowing lepers to mingle with the general population, 6) bribery, 7) putting stumbling blocks in front of the blind, 8) harming orphans, 9) executing a man for a crime committed by his son, 10) removing property landmarks, 11) eating mice and rats, 12) injuring expectant mothers with impunity, 13) mating with animals, and 14) roasting your own child as a sacrifice to a pagan god have been abolished? As Romans 6:15 says, "God forbid!" answering the question if Christians can stop obeying the laws of Moses. Some translations say "Certainly not!" Examining ROMANS 6:15, this verse says "......... Shall we SIN because we are not under the law but under grace? GOD FORBID!" 1 John 3:4 specifically defines SIN as breaking primarily the Mosaic laws: "......... SIN is the transgression of the law (the original Greek word for law is nomos, Strong's number 3551, which was explained above showing that by definition nomos refers primarily to the Mosaic, repeat, Mosaic, one more time, the Mosaic laws)." Being "under the law" means relying on the now abolished ceremonial and sacrificial laws that used the sacrifice of animals to atone for sins. Also, doesn't even the most primitive common sense say that these 14 laws could never be abolished in the name of decency? So if these 14 laws of Moses prohibiting such evil are still in force as Romans 6:15 clearly confirms in dark ink on white paper, excluding the animal and grain sacrifice laws and circumcision, just exactly where in the New Testament did any apostle single out for abolishment the rest of the Mosaic laws such as the third year tithe for the hungry, the Saturday Sabbath, the dietary laws, and various feasts such as the feast of Tabernacles? Where? WHERE ?? WHERE ??? This is a question Christians cannot logically walk away from, although most do. This is what anomia is all about, failing to obey all still applicable Biblical laws. On Judgment Day, will people really be able to get away with picking and choosing which laws they will obey? Absolutely not, according to Matthew 7:21-23 and 13:41-42. The Mosaic laws preventing such horrible behavior above and other laws have no innate power to save you like Jesus can with His sacrificial death, but they most certainly do have the power to keep you holy and righteous after your repentance and baptism, something Jesus very strictly insists on. 1) Romans 10:4: "For Christ is the end of the law ........" The ORIGINAL GREEK SAYS that Christ is the goal or aim of the law, not the termination of law keeping. 2) Colossians 2:14: "having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, ......... He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross." The ORIGINAL GREEK SAYS that this verse is referring to our past record or evidence of sins we have already committed, not the actual laws of the Old Testament, which is a big difference. 3) Ephesians 2:15: "Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; ........" The ORIGINAL GREEK SAYS that the above verse does not even refer to the Mosaic laws. 4) Romans 14:14,20: "......... there is nothing unclean of itself: ........ 20 ......... all things are clean ........." The ORIGINAL GREEK SAYS that verse 14 is saying that nothing is ceremonially polluted, defiled, or unclean for spiritual sacrifice. The original Greek says that verse 20 is referring to physically clean things "free from impurities, without blemish, and spotless." Neither verse has anything to do with forbidden foods listed by Moses. 5) Mark 7:18-19: "......... whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him, 19 because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?" The ORIGINAL GREEK SAYS that these verses, according to verses 2-5, refer to the Pharisees' man made ceremonial ritual of meticulously washing hands, not what foods are "unclean" or Biblically edible. Incredibly, antiSemitic leaning translators have actually succeeded in getting away with brazenly inserting the following very misleading comment at the end of verse 19 in many if not most translations: "In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean." The original Greek definitely DOES NOT contain that comment, and it does not appear in one of the most accurate translations, the King James Bible. 6) Acts 10:12,13,15: "......... all kinds of four footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13 And a voice came to him, 'Rise, Peter; kill and eat' ......... 15 'What God has cleansed you must not call common." The previous three verses were only a figurative comparison that Peter could easily understand as God taught him that nonJewish people should no longer be considered common or unclean, as verse 28 clearly shows what the context of chapter 10 is all about. After recognizing the purpose of the dream Peter was now able to baptize the first gentiles. Acts 11:18 further confirms the context of chapter 10. Peter never concluded that he could now eat any kind of animal even after seeing the vision three times, and chapter 10 certainly cannot be used as proof that the dietary laws have been abolished. Click MORE MISUNDERSTOOD VERSES to better understand verses that have been a source of confusion for centuries. If you have a Biblical verse you still believe justifies the abolition of most Old Testament laws, please click ucg.org/reprints/, type that verse in the little "Search" box on the upper left, then click "Submit" to access the very large literature library of the conservative church I attend, for a logical, common sense discussion of that verse as to what it literally means. Some verses, especially those involving prophecy, obviously involve some symbolism, but most Biblical verses mean what they say literally. Concerning the $10,000 and $400,000 challenge if I do decide to go through with it, a panel of 11 unbiased, publically elected nonChristian, nonJewish judges currently in office, who you can contact individually, will decide by majority rule whether most of the Mosaic laws have been abolished or not after you submit 26 or more verses that you think successfully refute 26 verses mentioned on this website. This challenge may seem a little extreme, but if it results in what I predict will be an objective, unanimous decision in my favor I think that at least a few more people will finally begin really questioning what the popular, but far too liberal churches have taught them, so the effort will have been worth it. To help draw attention to the judges' decision I may also even begin a small highway billboard campaign advertising their unbiased ruling that, based strictly on Biblical verses, the Bible states overwhelmingly that most of the Old Testament laws are still in force. Matthew 7:21-23 is a direct, understandable, straightforward, pointblank statement from God to Christians through the Bible, carrying the same magnitude of importance and seriousness that His warning to Adam and Eve had about the forbidden fruit. This time, though, Satan is lying again convincingly not through the mouth of a snake but through the mouths of mainstream Christendom's ministers. "Give the Devil his due," some people might say, because he has done a very good job tricking most Christians into believing Old Testament law keeping has been done away with. Revelation 12:9: "......... Satan, the deceiver of the whole world." | |
