Leviticus 23:34,41: "........the Feast of Tabernacles ........ 41 You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month." Zechariah 14:16-19: "And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 ........ whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King ........, on them there will be no rain. 18 ........ they shall receive the plague ........ 19 This shall be the punishment ........ of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles." The verses in Zechariah clearly refer to an age following a future event that has not yet occurred, the battle of "Armageddon." Zechariah 14:2-4,9,11: "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; ......... 3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, ......... 4 And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, ......... 9 And the Lord shall be king over all the earth; in that day shall there be one Lord, ......... 11 ......... there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited." Either A) the Lord is not telling the truth, or B) the Lord abolished the Feast of Tabernacles or allowed it to be abolished and then will re-establish it in the future, or C) the Feast of Tabernacles never was abolished and is still in force, and people who ignore it each year are seriously sinning, committing anomia. Since A is of course false because God does not lie and since B is illogical and silly, especially since there is no Scriptural evidence for it, only C must be valid. Only one of the previous choices is correct, and C is it. At the beginning of the millenial reign of Jesus Christ people who skip the annual Feast of Tabernacles will be subject to a curse involving the cessation of rainfall, probably for an entire year until the next feast, and some type of devastating plague. If the world's Christian population eventually becomes too great for Jerusalem to accomodate feast goers during the millenium, Jesus Christ and God the Father, as supreme law givers having the authority to amend and/or add to any existing law or decree, of course, can appoint additional sites for the Feast of Tabernacles. Of the three Old Testament festival seasons, two were not observed by the original Apostles in Jerusalem, so there is no reason to believe that the third season, the Feast of Tabernacles, was necessarily observed in Jerusalem. The Bible does not reveal where the Apostles kept the Feast of Tabernacles, and the Mosaic laws do not stipulate where this feast must be held in this premillenial age. Paul kept the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread at Philippi of Macedonia (Acts 20:6) and Pentecost at Ephesus (1 Corinthians 16:8). He instructed the Corinthians how to observe the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread correctly at Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:2, 5:7-8, 11:23-29). Since this Old Testament feast must still be in force, doesn't it look pretty obvious that some other Mosaic laws are also still valid, laws that mainstream Christianity mistakenly considers abolished? Last April I and thousands of other fellow church members received the church's 43 page "Festival Planning Brochure" for the highlight of the year, the big, 7 day, care free Feast of Tabernacles in the fall. The brochure listed about 127 different mostly motels/hotels around the globe, but mostly in the United States, that we could choose to stay in during the feast at dozens of sites. These rooms are usually available to us at significantly reduced rates because the church had previously negotiated them lower. Mainstream churches do not regularly observe this feast yet, but according to the Bible they will someday. Visitors of course are welcome, so why don't you join us some feast to better learn what the Bible is talking about concerning this eat, drink, and be merry kind of week long feast, and get a head start over the temporarily popular churches? The kids really love it, too.
