Creationists do not dispute evidence of substantial nuclear decay in rock and other material. They do dispute how long it really took for that decay to occur. Since 2000 the Institute for Creation Research's RATE research team has intensely analyzed the short half lives and concentrations of carbon 14, helium, radiohalos, and fission tracks in supposedly multibillion year old Earth materials. Their conclusion is that radioactive rates worldwide in the recent past must have been much faster than today's rates. The temporary acceleration was so great that even "billions of years" worth of nuclear decay could have occurred within a matter of days, which negates the reliability of commonly accepted radiometric dating techniques. The data indicate this acceleration probably took place sometime before biological life forms appeared during the creation week and during the Noachian Flood. It is a SERIOUS mistake to assume that the Biblical book of Genesis is not literally true merely because of the claims of astronomers that many stars are billions of years old according to the current velocity of light which is used to estimate their distances. Radioactive rates are directly related to the speed of light, and since radioactivity must have been much higher, the speed of light also must have been much faster in the past, possibly drastically shortening the amount of time required for star light to reach the Earth. Also, since 2006 ICR's COSMOS research program has applied Einstein's relativity equations to objects in the central region of the universe, where the Earth has now been shown to be, which initially indicate that the gravitational effects of surrounding stars would slow time on the Earth so much that star light could reach the Earth in thousands, not millions or billions of Earth years. Additionally, the valid "Gap Theory" does allow the Earth and celestial objects to be much older than the commonly taught Biblical age of about 6,000 years. If the oldest remains of any biological life form is less than 12,000 years old, then evolution, a theory riddled with fatal flaws to start with that supposedly requires many millions of years to occur, never even had enough time to occur. The following is a brief summary of just a very few of the extremely abundant facts of a miraculous creation and recent appearance of young organic life forms: 1) An "airtight" dating mechanism to clock the age of the Earth's atmosphere is the concentration of helium in the air. Helium, which contains less mass than any other element except hydrogen, is given off as a by product of unstable, radioactive uranium decaying into lead beneath the Earth's surface. The "slippery" little helium atom is small, lightweight, and mobile in the Earth's crustal rocks. It migrates upwards through pores and cracks in the rocks. Atmospheric helium, which does not chemically react with other elements, is slowly increasing, and gravity prevents helium from escaping into outer space. If the Earth's age is in the billions of years then the concentration of helium in the air should be about a million times higher than its present concentration. Since the annual rate of helium production is already known, the extremely low concentration of helium shows that the atmosphere, always essential for any kind of biological life, is less than 12,000 years old. For decades evolutionists have struggled to invent a theory to explain the helium problem that will not go away, but so far a reasonable solution has never been found. 2) The great majority of dinosaur fossils have been discovered in WATER BORN, repeat, !! WATER BORN !! sedimentary rock layers worldwide that very strongly suggest a global flood such as Noah's occurred causing the vast majority of dinosaurs to die by drowning. Evolutionists, using radiometric techniques to date the sedimentary rock layers that contain dinosaur fossils assert that dinosaurs lived more than 60 million years before mankind appeared. Yet virtually every primitive culture on the Earth has stories about dinosaur like creatures. Worldwide evidence such as cave drawings, stone and artifact carvings, paintings on pottery depicting dinosaurs, and a great number of European and Asian eyewitness accounts show that humans around the world have seen and lived with dinosaurs. Also, the legend of a small number of people in a large boat surviving an ancient flood that completely covered the Earth has been found among at least 213 different ancient tribes and cultures that spoke many different languages. This legend is the most frequently occurring legend in the early history of mankind. These tribes and cultures around the world came into existence within the last 6,000 years according to recorded history. Also, millions of tons of meteorites and meteoritic dust fall to the Earth each year. The rock layers containing dinosaur fossils are totally devoid of meteoritic material which is present in soil layers above and below the sedimentary fossil layers. This means the dinosaurs died and were buried by a global cataclysmic event so quickly that meteoritic material did not have enough time to settle upon the fossil layers, which is evidence that the dinosaurs did not die off slowly, as the evolutionists claim. Intact, delicate DNA molecules have been discovered in Tyranosaurus Rex dinosaur bones, yet carefully controlled research has shown that DNA cannot possibly last more than about 20,000 years, indicating that dinosaurs lived within the last 20,000 years. Intact, delicate red blood cells containing hemoglobin that cannot survive more than about 20,000 years have also been discovered in dinosaur bones. Evolutionists keep trying to censor the continued discovery of these relatively delicate molecules from the media. In addition, some still living and healthy giant sequoia trees have been dated by tree rings of similar sized trees to be about 4,000 years old, but never any older. The giant sequoias of California are resistant to insects, disease, and forest fires. With their 4 feet thick bark they have no known enemies except man, and they continue to live on century after century. In the sequoia groves of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, there are no dead sequoia trees. Incredibly, there is no evidence that they ever die from natural causes. Since botanists have speculated that these trees have the apparent ability to live many thousands of years longer their present maximum age provides still more evidence that a worldwide flood occurred about 4,000 years ago that destroyed all land animal and plant life. From this and much more evidence, an obvious conclusion is that most of the dinosaurs died quickly from Noah's Flood about 4,000 years ago, not slowly about 60 million years ago from a giant asteroid as the evolutionists insist. 3) The very sudden, abrupt appearance of recorded history involving well developed, complex human languages less than 6,000 years ago is very strong evidence mankind was created within the last 6,000 years. The Jews, meticulous record keepers, state that the year 2010 is actually 5770. 4) Isaiah 42:5, 44:24, 45:12, 51:13, and other verses many centuries ago stated that God did "stretch out the heavens," and astronomers have confirmed that the universe has expanded and is still expanding. The phrase "stretch out the heavens" indicates an event that occurred, but those words also allow for an expansion that still has not ended. The context of the above verses and others indicate that the Earth, the other planets, and the stars had already been created before that massive stellar expansion occurred. Evolutionists, adding their own imagined huge, initial explosion, have tried to twist that miraculous expansion into a highly deceptive, evolutionary "Big Bang" theory as an explanation for the origin of the entire universe. Mindless explosions have always been destructive, though, not constructive. Gas and dust particles left over from a big bang explosion have a natural tendency to diffuse and could never combine to form an object with a diameter of about one kilometer, which is the minimal size needed for gravitational attraction to exceed the repelling gas pressure as larger and larger objects such as moons, planets, and stars supposedly were formed. The gas pressure initially repelling small particles would always be 50 to 100 times greater than their gravitational attraction. A big bang explosion cannot form different moons orbiting the same planet in opposite directions, which is only one of many illogical observations our solar system has revealed. Our universe must have been initially created and could never have evolved by the current laws of physics. 5) Zircon is a hard mineral resistant to weathering and erosion and is found deep underground. Zircons often contain trace amounts of uranium and thorium that make them radioactive. The radioactive decay process produces helium that diffuses out of the rock. In rock containing zircons "dated" by evolutionists to be over one billion years old, all the helium should have leaked out by now, but a relatively huge amount of helium was still in the zircons. Calculations show that the large helium concentration indicated an age of less than 8,000 years for the rock, which helps determine the age of the outer portion of the Earth where the oldest remains of organic life forms have been found. 6) Radioactive carbon-14, or C-4, atoms are formed when a free neutron combines with a nitrogen-14 atom. C-14 has been found in diamonds. The extremely hard structure of diamonds, which is the hardest natural material known, resists contamination and chemical interaction with other substances. It appears that the detected C-14 is the same C-14 that was initially in the diamonds when they were formed, and it has remained trapped there ever since. According to evolutionists, C-14 which has a very short half life of 5,730 years, should no longer exist in diamonds which their radiometric dating methods say are hundreds of millions to billions of years old. After just 100,000 years all the detectable C-14 should have decayed back into nitrogen-14. Yet significant amounts of C-14 have been found in diamonds, and the concentrations indicate an age of less than 10,000 years for this hard material. C-14 has also been regularly detected in fossils, various rocks and other material worldwide from all depths that include those supposedly hundreds of millions of years old. If these samples are really that old, C-14 should be completely undetectable after decaying into nitrogen-14. Since C-14 is still in them, an age measured in thousands of years is indicated for the outer layer of the Earth, not millions or billions. 7) The fact that exquisite, intricately designed, highly aesthetic beauty exists on some deep sea fish that cannot even see, because of the ocean's depth, similar beauty on other fish of the same species is totally illogical for evolutionism. If no marine creature, including potential mates and predators, can see this beauty until it is exposed by some kind of light provided by humans, what purpose or use would the supposed "development" of such beauty serve in evolutionism's "survival of the fittest" scheme? It would be totally useless, unless it was divinely created to please the Lord's and mankind's aesthetic senses. A tremendous number of fabulously beautiful plants, especially flowers, also presents an insurmountable problem for evolutionists. Plants do not have eyes. Plants are not interested in dating other plants, no matter how good looking they are. Plant eating animals rarely if ever choose what to eat according to its exact color design. Intense symmetrical beauty in plants also rarely if ever serves any defensive purpose. Have you ever really closely examined the fabulous beauty and intricate symmetry of a peacock's tail feathers? The highly designed beauty of many birds, land animals, and even some species of insects, especially some moths and butterflies, is so aesthetic that it far exceeds any conceivable evolutionistic purpose. Such beauty was created to please us and to declare some of the many creative powers and glory of our Creator. 8) Darwin and other scientists in his era did not have the electron microscope and other high technology instruments to study biology at the cellular level. Scientists now know that even the simplest cell is mind staggeringly complex. Darwin was totally ignorant of the valid principle of "irreducible complexity" that makes evolution impossible. Cells are so complex that if they were less complex or their complexity was reduced, they could not exist or survive. For example, all cells, including the simplest ones, must have DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), the cell's "blueprints," which itself is so complicated that it is mathematically impossible for it to have developed or evolved by random processes, to direct cell activity and to reproduce. All cells, including the simplest ones, and including their very vulnerable DNA, also must have a cell wall for protection and to contain the components of the cell. However, the cell wall is made of material that was synthesized by highly specific enzymes that needed encoding directions from the DNA, a pre-existing DNA. The DNA, though, could never have existed without the protection of a pre-existing cell wall. Which came first? Answer: neither came first, because they both had to be in existence at the same time for the cell to function. In other words, the cell and its contents had to be created all at the same time, and evolutionary processes cannot explain the complex existence of cells. Evolution could never have occurred in incremental "stages" because all the "stages" had to all be present at the exact same time, all at once, which is called a "creation." Cell complexity, therefore, cannot be reduced: it is irreducible. Many other cell components such as ribosomes, the "energy factories" also have interlinking "must have at the same time" irreducible relationships with DNA. 9) In every early, ancient civilization relatively spectacular urban architecture never appeared before about 6,000 years ago. Evolutionist archaeologists have theorized almost endlessly as to the cause of this sudden, abrupt worldwide boom in massive, man made structures that began about 6 millennia ago which had been totally nonexistent previously.
